The ZSocketXPub class implements a ZeroMQ XPUB
socket.
- Restrictions:
- Qore::PO_NO_NETWORK
- Overview
- Objects of this class can receive subscriptions from the peers in form of incoming messages. The subscription message is a single byte; 1 (for subscriptions) or 0 (for unsubscriptions) followed by the subscription body. Messages without a sub/unsub prefix are also received, but have no effect on subscription status.
Summary of XPUB
characteristics
Property | Value |
Compatible peer sockets | SUB, XSUB |
Direction | Unidirectional |
Send/receive pattern | Send messages, receive subscriptions |
Incoming routing strategy | N/A |
Outgoing routing strategy | Fan out |
Action in mute state | Drop |
- Note
- This class is not designed to be accessed from multiple threads; it was created without locking for fast and efficient use when used from a single thread. For methods that would be unsafe to use in another thread, any use of such methods in threads other than the thread where the constructor was called will cause a
ZSOCKET-THREAD-ERROR
to be thrown.
